A cavy is a rodent under the scientific family Caviidae, characterised by having four digits on their front paws and three on the back. The largest rodent in the world, the capybara, fits in this category, as well as the guinea pig. In Central and South America, they are often ranched for their meat. Here in Minnesota, we keep guinea pigs as pets, and it is the opinion of Cavy Software, LLC that they are adorable.
